The program is therefore guided by the following specific objectives:
- To train quality researchers at master's, doctoral and post-doctoral level to work as research coordinators and advisors in teaching and research institutions, government bodies or health services.
- To develop research and reflections that can contribute to health promotion, prevention and care in the country, seeking to respond to the demands of society. - Focus on inequalities, diversities, geographical, historical and social distribution in health, as well as the ways in which each society defines its health demands and organizes itself to meet its needs.
- To provide students with teaching experience by involving them in monitoring and teaching support activities in undergraduate courses, contributing to the training of teachers at higher education institutions in the area of health. - Expanding exchanges with national and international teaching and research institutions in order to qualify the course and increase quality scientific production by linking students and researchers with centers of excellence.
The program trains masters and doctors in Public Health in three areas of concentration: Social Sciences in Health; Health Policy, Planning and Management; and Epidemiology. Each area comprises the PPG's lines of research, to which the program's supervising professors are linked. Each professor can participate in one or more lines of research.
