University of Campinas receives Edgar Vergara Dagobeth, oncologist surgeon at the University of Sucre, Colombia

Edgar Vergara Dagobeth, MD, professor of medicine (section of Oncological Surgery) and researcher at the University of Sucre, Sincelejo, Colombia, candidate for a doctorate in Tropical Medicine at the University of Cartagena, Cartagena, Colombia, is performing an internship of 2 months in the laboratory of Urogenital Carcinogenesis and Cancer Immunotherapy, under the direction of professor Wagner José Favaro Ph.D.

The internship includes immunohistochemical study of tumors of patients with colorectal cancer, within the study of functional Genomics of colorectal cancer for identification of molecular biomarkers, conducted in conjunction with the Prometeus Research Group, Biomedicine applied to the Clinical Sciences of the University of Cartagena, under the tutorship of Professor Amileth Suárez Causado Ph.D.

University of Campinas (Unicamp), the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) and the Department of Anatomy of the Biology Institute celebrate international cooperation with these important colombian universities.
