SMS of Unicamp received professor from Wroclaw Medical University, Poland

Piotr Koleda, paediatric surgeon, educator and professor of Surgery of Department of Medical Simulation at Wroclaw Medical University, Poland, visited the School of Medical Siences (SMS), University of Campinas (Unicamp), from May 22nd to June 1st, for multiple activities. The visit was part of mobility inter-institutional agreement between partner institutions and countries of ERASMUS+ Programme. 

On May 22nd Koleda was received by Claudio S. R. Coy, associated dean of SMS - Unicamp, and Gustavo P. Fraga, coordinator of Division of Trauma Surgery and International Office at SMS - Unicamp. On May 23rd - 24th he presented lectures to under graduated students, medical residents, and medical attending and professors about the topics: "Medical Errors", "Medical simulation projects for pre and postgraduate students: the potential for teaching and research", and "Prioritising in major paediatric trauma". Koleda visited the Simulation Laboratory of SMS - Unicamp and participated at Panamerican Trauma Society Telemedicine Grand Round at Hospital de Clinicas - Unicamp, completing 8 hours activities at SMS.

From May 24th - 26th, Koleda participated as instructor at Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) course and from May 26th - 29th was instructor and educator at the European Trauma Course (ETC), organized for the first time in Brazil and Americas.

Koleda participated as international speaker at INTERGASTRO & TRAUMA (IG&T), 9th World Congress of the Abdominal Compartment Society, XIII Simpósio Internacional SOBED and XI Congresso Estadual de Videocirurgia - SOBRACIL-SP from May 30th to June 1st. See more here.

Koleda is the editor-in-chief of the journal Clinical Education & Medical Simulation and invited the Trauma League students to submit papers about trauma prevention programs, like Yellow May. Read more about Wroclaw Medical University here.
