SMS - Unicamp medical resident of Neurosurgery approved as Clinical Fellow at Cleveland Clinic

Erion Jr. de Andrade, a PGY 4 (fourth-year resident physician) of Division of Neurosurgery at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of University of Campinas (Unicamp) was recently approved in the selection process to the Clinical Fellow in the Advanced Endoscopic and Open Skull Base Fellowship program at the Cleveland Clinic (Cleveland-OH, USA) under supervision of Dr. Pablo Recinos.

After successfully passed USMLE Steps 1, 2CK and 2CS, he was able to participate in the selection process, competing with Neurosurgeons from all over world, including americans, for the only position as Skull Base Fellow in the 2021-2022 period at the CC.

At the Cleveland Clinic, Erion will have the opportunity to be formally trained as a Skull Base Surgeon in an interdisciplinary team in conjunction with world renowned specialists in interventional neuroradiology, otolaryngology, neuro-ophthalmology and plastic surgery.

The program consists of one of the largest skull base programs in the US and has as it’s  primary goals of this fellowship is to train future academic leaders and clinical scientists in the subspecialty of skull base surgery by providing advanced training in the overall management of patients with complex skull base pathology.
