From February 12th to May 1th 2024, the medical student Nicolas Walstijn, from University of Copenhagen, Denmark, did internship at Orthopedics and Traumatology Departament of School of Medical Sciences (SMS), Unicamp. Nicolas wrote about his experience:

 “I had the pleasure of serving as a medical intern in orthopedic and plastic surgery at Unicamp for three enriching months as part of my medical degree from the University of Copenhagen. During this period, I primarily shadowed the residents at these departments, who graciously welcomed me as a valued member of their team.

Their warmth and hospitality made my experience at the hospital incredibly rewarding, and I cherished every moment spent there. This internship facilitated my professional and personal growth, and I am grateful to still maintain contact with several residents to this day. It was truly an honor to work and learn alongside such dedicated professionals.

In addition to my clinical responsibilities, I devoted time to exploring the stunning landscapes of Brazil, a country blessed with countless picturesque scenes and natural beauty. Barão Geraldo, the city where UNICAMP is situated, proved to be a charming place, offering a variety of bars, restaurants, gyms, and other activities perfect for young people.

Lastly, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to Clariza from the international office, whose exceptional kindness, assistance, and patience made my stay all the more enjoyable. Obrigado, Unicamp!”
