Anna Bernhards, a medical student from Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Germany, recently finished an internship at the School of Medical Sciences (SMS) of Unicamp. The internship, which ran from March 11 to June 30, was centered around the areas of Surgery and Medical Clinic. Here is her testimony:

“During my internship exchange at the Hospital de Clínicas at Unicamp, I had the unique opportunity to work alongside Brazilian residents and interns in various consultations and procedures. This experience was extremely enriching, as it allowed me to develop practical skills that are not as emphasized during internships in Germany. The intensive clinical practice and direct patient contact provided me with deep and meaningful learning.

Additionally, I was delighted to find a welcoming environment that fostered both my professional and personal growth. In this context, I had the joy of meeting my girlfriend, making my experience in Brazil even more memorable. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Cristina Alba and Dr. Daniela Miti, as well as the internal medicine residents, for taking such good care of me, especially during the time I was ill with dengue fever. Their support was essential to my recovery and made my experience in Brazil truly unforgettable”.
