The Qualification Exam must be requested by the student through the SIGA system -
Academic Management System: https://www.dac.unicamp.br/portal/acesso/estudantes
The request must be made 30 days in advance of the scheduled date, after the student has:
- completed all credits required by the program;
- passed the English Language proficiency exam;
- uploaded the Ethics Committee's approval of the project to the SIGA system.

Important:
It is strongly recommended that the qualification exam be requested from the PPGSC at least 4 (four) months before the thesis/dissertation defense.
The Student and Advisor are responsible for:
- contacting the professors chosen to be on the Examining Committee regarding date and time availability, as well as delivering the article to be presented and the respective invitation letters, which will be issued by the Postgraduate Secretariat and sent to the student by email after the Program Committee approves the committee.
- arranging the room reservation, as well as all audiovisual material to be used in their exam (if it is not available in the scheduled room).
*Please note that the qualification exam can be conducted entirely remotely, according to the
committee's needs

About the Qualifying Exam:
The qualifying exam will be conducted before an examination committee composed of three professors holding at least a doctoral degree, with scientific output compatible with that required for accreditation in the program (at least 3 articles with an impact factor greater than 1 in the last 3 years).
The advisor must suggest three more names (2 full members and 1 alternate) and submit them, via the SIGA System, to the PPGSC, which will authorize the final composition of the committee. The candidate's advisor is required to participate and will be the President of the Examination Committee.
Only members who meet the principles of impartiality and ethics in their relationship with the student, their advisor, and other members of the Committee may serve on Examination Committees.
The Examination Committee will prepare a final report that will be sent to the Graduate Program Committee in Public Health. This report must state whether the student has passed or failed.
In cases of failure, only one more exam will be allowed. A student who fails the Qualifying Exam may request a new exam, with the same Examination Committee, within 30 days after the first exam.
